From the 1st of November 2019, Former Microsoft Director Per Bendix Olsen has led the development of WorkPoint’s global partner network. He brings in 13 years of experience from Microsoft and 16 years at IBM, so it is an extremely competent individual who seeks to accelerate international sales.
The title Global Commercial Director fits well with Per Bendix Olsen. So far his career has brought him around the world with sales responsibilities in the Nordic countries, Europe, Africa, Asia and North and South America. He has primarily been involved in developing partners in the public sector, health and education.
The long career at Microsoft’ also brought Per and the family 3 years at HQ in Redmond outside Seattle. “Our time in Redmond was fascinating in terms of career and private life. The informal name for the headquarters is The Microsoft Campus, and there is tremendous intensity and power when 100,000 people work and have their daily activities in an area that is only 5 x 5 km ”, says Per Bendix Olsen.
The strong relationships with Microsoft and the many contacts with potential partners around the world are naturally brought into play for the new commercial director.
“For me, IT is about people, about motivating and developing, about knowing product opportunities and about respectful collaboration across cultures. People are people, across irony in Columbia and Muslim roots in Egypt, if you can make people act the same in terms of sales strategies and actions, then you are doing something right and can develop sustainable business relationships, ”says Per Bendix Olsen.
The human factor is also key when Per Bendix Olsen has to explain why he sees increased sales opportunities for the Soft Data Management software WorkPoint.
“At Microsoft, I wrote white papers on the transition from On-premise solutions to cloud solutions. Companies are not in doubt anymore about this journey, but the growth of critical data and new dynamic forms of collaboration is a major challenge, and many people generally find it difficult to manage and control the soft data if employees work in different ways. With WorkPoint, they get a central management cockpit that builds upon the IT infrastructure they already have, namely Office 365, and the customer gets a solution that takes advantage of the full range of options in Microsoft’s platform from Outlook to Teams, Power BI, OneDrive, Exchange and many more”.
Per Bendix Olsen has been responsible for 120,000 partners and has a unique insight into the philosophy at Microsoft and the opportunities that exist in collaboration with the marketing department to target different campaigns to different audiences and also tells about the ambitious growth target of 50% in both 2019 and 2020.
”Our solution fits very well with large companies like Siemens and Grundfos, and it is scalable depending on the functions and number of users who need the solution. We need to develop, support and service these types of companies and other segments in close collaboration with existing and new partners. The potential is there for both end customers and our partners. I can see that there are partners who have built a business around WorkPoint, and we need many more internationally. Basically, it’s just about accelerating the journey WorkPoint is already on – it’s a winning team I have joined.”
