Continuing the journey of blog posts into Microsoft Viva, let’s dive into the first of the pillars that make up the new employee experience platform – Connections.
Companies publish information all the time. There’s no shortage of content from the latest stock news to the winner of the after-work quiz.
But is everything relevant to you?
In the vast pool of company data built for both entertainment and educational purposes, there’s a great need for the ability to sift through it all effectively.
This ability becomes especially important where knowledge is concerned. For example, new workers need to find the latest guides telling them how to access or use a new system. Or say a seasoned manager is taking on a new project outside their scope of work and needs the right information fast.
The first pillar in Viva is Connections – a digital workplace and intranet to handle information overload.
How does it work?
Connections use advanced AI and machine learning to give you relevant content based on who you are, who your manager is, what department you’re in – and more.
Built on graph technology (Microsoft Graph), it uses a mesh of connections to give you targeted and accurate results. It understands the different connections you have with other people, such as discussing a project on Teams or whether you have a budget meeting.
That means it understands context and relationships between people to aid you in your workdays.
And by bringing intelligence into the massive pool of company information – Connections empowers employees to get instant access to what matters – at the right time.
This will be especially important post-COVID. As home and hybrid working takes root, it’s critical for organisations to cast their nets even wider – to ensure everyone stays connected in the right way.
As Microsoft partners, we’ll be working closely with them to ensure that WorkPoint capitalises on Viva’s great new functionality.
The biggest opportunity we see right now is the incredible knowledge-sharing capabilities promised. Microsoft Viva will intelligently help bring the knowledge stored in WorkPoint directly to the user.
WorkPoint constantly monitors what is happening and finds new ways to bring these efforts together and make our own solution an even better, more intuitive platform for our customers.
