Part 3: Microsoft Viva: Managing Work Time For Optimal Results & Time Management

Self-reflection is great if you aim for success. The knowledge of what you should do more and less of is key in determining what works. By doing that, you can optimise your work-life balance for improved physical and mental health and productivity. 

Our third blog post in the series of Microsoft Viva covers another one of the employee experience platform’s great new features – Insights. 

Insights deliver valuable insights to help employees become happier and more effective. Working hard is great – but burnout is prevalent, especially when increased isolation is the norm. Having the ability to monitor your balance is key, so you can take the right steps in correcting overwork. 

Analysing Your Time 

Sent as a weekly email, Viva Insights shows you who you’ve been interacting with, how efficient you’ve been, and the number of meetings you’ve had. It also analyses your ability to have focused time without distractions – and important thinking time. 

If times have been less than ideal from a productivity standpoint, Insights will tell you – and give important reminders for fixing it. 

With a few clicks, you can schedule important focus time a few days a week – or every morning. During that time, notifications get put on mute, and your Teams status changes to busy “focus time.” 

If you have a job that requires a lot of creativity and thinking – working uninterrupted is gold. And with Insights, it’s scheduled in a breeze. 

But the tool doesn’t only measure personal work-life balance. It also measures it from an organisational perspective – ensuring that managers and C-suite executives get the full picture of mental health and productivity across their organisations. 

So, if you’re burning out by working late and starting early – Insights won’t just tell you… your bosses will know too.
