Building the foundation for future knowledge work
The Confederation of Danish Employers (DA) is the main organization for employers’ associations in Denmark’s private-sector labor market. Representing a wide range of industries, DA plays a central role in ensuring strong conditions for Danish businesses.
This responsibility places high demands on documentation, knowledge sharing, and consistency across the organization – both internally and in collaboration with external stakeholders.
Over several years, DA has worked strategically to digitize and modernize its internal processes. However, as the volume of documents, cases, and information continued to grow, it became increasingly clear that the existing setup could no longer support the organization’s needs.
The challenge was therefore not just about replacing a system. For DA, the goal was to establish a strong and unified foundation for managing documents, cases, and knowledge across the entire organization—supporting both day-to-day work and long-term strategic ambitions.
As Mia Plougmann Mønsted, Head of Secretariat at DA, explains:
We are not just looking for a new system, but a strong and future-proof foundation for all our knowledge management

When complexity grows, so does the need for structure
As a central organization representing employers, DA handles large volumes of knowledge, documents, and cases that must be easily accessible, correctly shared, and consistently managed – often across departments and over long periods of time.
Over time, new ways of working, more digital processes, and increasing compliance requirements have made the document and data landscape significantly more complex.
As a result, consistency in structure, clarity in workflows, and quick access to the right information became increasingly difficult to maintain. DA therefore needed stronger governance, more consistent use of metadata, and a solution that was both flexible and scalable.
At the same time, the ambition was clear: the new foundation needed to support DA’s 2026–2030 strategy, where AI plays a key role in evolving how the organization works with knowledge. Without a structured and reliable data foundation, realizing this potential would be difficult.
A partnership focused on both daily work and long-term direction
To realize this ambition, DA partnered closely with our partner, Fellowmind. Together, they are building a new solution on Microsoft 365 and WorkPoint 365 – combining structure, usability, and flexibility.
The solution is designed around clear governance principles and data quality standards, ensuring that documents and cases are handled consistently and securely across the organization.
At the same time, strong emphasis is placed on usability. In practice, the solution supports employees by:
- Making knowledge easier to share and access across teams
- Providing better overview of documents, cases, and information
- Streamlining daily work with intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
Workflows and user experiences are designed to match DA’s way of working, supported by:
- Automation that reduces manual tasks and increases efficiency
- Process support that ensures consistency across teams and departments
- A flexible setup that can evolve with the organization’s needs

Ready for AI – aligned with strategic ambitions
AI readiness is a central part of the initiative. From the outset, the solution is designed to leverage Microsoft’s AI technologies—including Copilot—on a structured and secure data foundation. This allows DA to not only address current challenges but also build a future-ready platform that supports its strategic priorities for 2026–2030.
With a solid data foundation in place, AI can help enhance knowledge work, provide faster access to relevant information, and support better decision-making.
As Susanne Borvang, Project Manager at DA, says:
Our collaboration with Fellowmind enables us to address both today’s needs and tomorrow’s AI opportunities from the very beginning.
From Fellowmind’s perspective, the approach is equally forward-looking:
"DA has taken a bold and visionary step by building a data foundation that is already designed for AI," says Steffen Lervad, Sales Executive at Fellowmind.
