As part of the strategic plan adopted at New Year when WorkPoint was sold to Norwegian, Viking Venture, a new CEO has now been appointed to scale the organisation at an international level.

Ready for a giant leap

The foundation of WorkPoint rests upon:

  • A relevant software product that solves enterprise companies’ increasing need for a single document management system that can accommodate everything from project management to business intelligence.
  • Strategic partnerships of both national and international software companies.
  • Strong ownership, and a highly competent organisation.

A foundation that can support the ambition of a fivefold increase in turnover within the next 5 years which will bring WorkPoint into the super league of SaaS companies. CEO, Peter Jørgensen, is proud of the foundation he will now pass on, for further growth:

The sale to Viking Venture was carefully planned, and so is my resignation as CEO. I am proud to have developed a relevant and value-creating product in which both customers and partners see great potential. Claus Jul Christiansen is a very strong and competent profile, and it is now up to Claus to scale WorkPoint. I know Claus’ values and his way of conducting management, – significant reasons why I have addressed him to be my successor. I have high expectations for the development under his leadership, and I am sure that it will benefit our customers, our partners, and our employees.

- Peter Jørgensen, CEO

CEO, Peter Jørgensen owns 25% of WorkPoint together with his wife Hanne Jørgensen, who has been part of WorkPoint from the very beginning. Peter will continue his work at WorkPoint in an advisory role, as part of the Board of Directors.

Strong commercial profile to ensure growth

The new CEO joins WorkPoint with a strong profile. Claus Jul Christiansen, a former director at Microsoft, brings with him thorough experience within business development, leadership, and technology, all areas which he has worked with continuously in his 26-year long career at Microsoft in Denmark, as well as at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond near Seattle. Claus has been on the Danish Board of Directors, and has been in charge of both customers and partners during his time at Microsoft. WorkPoint being a long-time partner of Microsoft's and now having reached Top Tier level, views the new CEO as the perfect match for the organisation.

Claus Jul Christiansen is ready to scale and expand WorkPoint.

I have known WorkPoint and Peter very well as a central business partner from my time at Microsoft, and as a board member, it has been a pleasure to gain deeper insight into WorkPoint and to get to know Viking Venture. I have also had the opportunity to meet many of the employees, and the high level of competence combined with the atmosphere in the organisation are important elements to succeed. WorkPoint has come a long way, and we have an incredibly exciting journey ahead of us with great expansion opportunities.

- Claus Jul Christiansen, CEO

WorkPoint is a partner-driven organisation, and Claus Jul Christiansen has great experience with this.

WorkPoint is built on the Microsoft platform, and with a partner channel strategy, there is enormous leverage potential. WorkPoint’s international partner strategy must be developed, and together we will create continuous value for the end customers. There is very little churn, which proves our strong product development and value focus

- Claus Jul Christiansen, CEO

Thanks to a visionary entrepreneur

Eivind Bergsmyr, partner in Norwegian Viking Venture and Chairman of the board of WorkPoint emphasizes that it is Peter Jørgensen’s own wish to step down as CEO.

We have great respect for the visionary development of WorkPoint that Peter has spearheaded, and I sincerely thank him for his efforts. Fortunately, a worthy and competent successor has been found in Claus, who will lead WorkPoint through the next phase of the company’s development. The two have now swapped places, and we look forward to continuing the good collaboration with Peter on the board and with Claus as CEO of WorkPoint.
